The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) participated in the 10th annual meeting of the National Federation of Insurance Agents and Brokers of Morocco (FNACAM) in Casablanca on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

This year’s event, under the theme of “Reinventing intermediation in the face of tomorrow’s risks,” brought industry stakeholders together to discuss developments in the role of intermediaries in the midst of changing practices, technological advancements and the emergence of new risks.

During the opening session, Mr. Abderrahim Chaffai, President of ACAPS, highlighted the importance of intermediaries in insurance distribution and their role in providing local support, advice, and guidance to policyholders.

His speech focused in particular on the changes that distribution is likely to undergo to meet the new needs of policyholders and support the market’s development. In this regard, he highlighted the challenges relating to skills development, the quality of information and advice, innovation, and the adaptation of distribution channels. He also mentioned advances in digitalization, notably the digitization of motor insurance certificates.

The President of ACAPS also emphasized the market’s potential for growth and the need to broaden access to insurance. In this context, intermediaries have an important role to play in better meeting the needs of policyholders, improving the quality of service and contributing to the wider uptake of insurance.

It should be noted that supporting the evolution of insurance intermediation is therefore one of the measures being taken by ACAPS to support market development, strengthen protection for policyholders, and promote wider access to insurance.
