The National Authority for Integrity, Prevention and the Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC) and the three financial sector authorities, namely Bank Al-Maghrib, the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) and the Insurance and Social Welfare Supervisory Authority (ACAPS), held their sixth high-level annual meeting on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, as part of the follow-up to the implementation of the Cooperation Convention on the Prevention of and Fight Against Corruption in the Financial Sector (CASF), signed in November 2019.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress made in implementing the Convention over the 2025-2026 period and to approve the roadmap for 2027-2028. It also provided a forum for discussions on recent developments in the prevention of and fight against corruption at both national and international levels.
The 2025-2026 period was marked by several initiatives aimed at strengthening sector-wide efforts to prevent and combat corruption. These notably included targeted training and awareness-raising sessions, which benefited more than 900 staff members from the institutions that signed the Convention, as well as the strengthening of the partnership with the Moroccan Foundation for Financial Education (FMEF) to enhance the expertise of its trainers in integrity and corruption prevention.
The experience-sharing and dissemination of best practices in combating corruption also continued, notably through the fourth edition of the Forum of ISO 37001-Certified Organisations, which brought together more than 70 officials and professionals representing 40 organisations from the financial and non-financial sectors. The participation of both sectors, alongside the growing involvement of the non-financial sector, illustrates the spillover effects of these efforts beyond the financial sector.
Furthermore, this commitment to sharing experience was reflected in the active participation of the four institutions that signed the Convention in several national and international events dedicated to integrity, prevention and the fight against corruption.
In parallel, the three financial authorities continued their work, in coordination with the INPPLC, to assess and regulate corruption risks within the financial system.
As regards the 2027-2028 roadmap, its objectives include strengthening professional capabilities, fostering a culture of integrity across the sector through the development of guidance materials and the organisation of training and awareness-raising sessions, and further promoting the sharing of experience and best practices.
Particular emphasis is placed on implementing action plans arising from corruption risk assessments across the financial sector, developing partnerships with academic institutions and strengthening cooperation with counterpart institutions internationally. In addition, the INPPLC is expected to obtain ISO 37001 certification in 2027, in accordance with the international standard for anti-corruption management systems.
At the close of the meeting, the four institutions reaffirmed their determination to pursue and deepen their cooperation in preventing and combating corruption in the financial sector. They also reiterated their shared commitment to actively contributing to national efforts in this area, particularly through the sharing of experience and the development of joint initiatives that could serve as a source of inspiration for other sectors.
