The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare, in collaboration with FSD Africa, has launched a call for applications for holders of innovative insurance projects in Morocco for the third consecutive year .

In order to foster innovation on the continent, the BimaLab Africa Insurtech Accelerator program specifically targets African insurtechs.

The program offers structured tutoring over six months, including technical training, mentoring, master classes, regulatory support and matchmaking with investors. The selected start-ups will have the opportunity to present their projects at relevant events, enhancing their visibility and their access to strategic partnerships.

For the 2025 edition, BimaLab Africa plans to support 35 start-ups from 25 African countries. Applications are open to legally registered African start-ups operating or looking to expand on the continent and developing innovative technological solutions in the fields of insurance, risk management or financial protection. The focus is on projects that address climate resilience, adaptation to climate change, financial inclusion and gender equality.

Since its launch in 2020, the BimaLab program has supported more than 100 African start-ups, enabling them to raise more than 30 million dollars in financing and develop more than 150 products and services. It has also facilitated the signature of 45 strategic partnerships and contributed to the establishment of regulatory frameworks favourable to innovation in 15 African countries.

Applications for the 2025 edition are open until 23 May 2025.
