The President of the Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS), Mr. Abderrahim Chaffai, took part on Wednesday, July, 1st, in the first edition of the Financial Information Symposium, organized by Boursenews under the theme: “Financial Communication: A Lever for Trust or Merely a Regulatory Requirement?”

In his opening remarks at the event, he emphasized that financial communication is now an essential driver of trust, transparency, and financial stability, particularly in the insurance and social security sectors.

On this occasion, he highlighted the prudential reforms undertaken by ACAPS, notably the gradual implementation of Risk-Based Solvency (RBS), the development of the Pillar III reporting framework, and the modernization of supervisory tools, all aimed at enhancing the quality of financial information, market discipline, and the protection of policyholders, plan members, and beneficiaries.

The Chairman also reiterated that promoting financial literacy and best practices is an essential complement to the regulatory framework, enabling citizens to better understand financial information, make informed decisions, and thereby help build confidence in the financial system.

It should be noted that this first edition of the Financial Information Symposium brought together key players in Morocco’s financial ecosystem to discuss issues of transparency, financial reporting, and trust, against a backdrop of profound changes in markets and regulatory frameworks.
