The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) hosted a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, as part of a macroeconomic mission to Morocco.

The members of the mission were received by Mr. Abderrahim Chaffai, President of ACAPS, for a meeting focused on recent developments in Morocco’s insurance and social security sectors.

Led by Mr. Tsuji Kensuke, Deputy Director General of JICA’s Department of Credit Risk Analysis and Environmental Assessment, the delegation discussed recent developments in Morocco’s insurance and social welfare sectors with ACAPS managers. Discussions focused in particular on the Authority’s priorities regarding prudential supervision, risk management, and the protection of policyholders and beneficiaries, as well as on the prospects for the evolution of these sectors and their contribution to the resilience of the national economy, particularly in the face of challenges related to climate change.

This meeting is part of the dialogue that ACAPS maintains with its international institutional partners to promote the exchange of experiences and strengthen cooperation in the areas of financial regulation and supervision.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to present ACAPS’s missions, its approach to regulation and supervision, and the key initiatives underway to support the development of the insurance and social welfare sectors.

It should be noted that this visits reflects the strong cooperative relationship between ACAPS and JICA and helps strengthen the dialogue between the two institutions on common challenges related to regulation, prudential supervision, and the development of the insurance and social welfare sectors.
