The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) hosted a delegation from Burkina Faso in Rabat from October 13 to 17, 2025, as part of an exchange and experience-sharing mission.
This initiative, supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Insurance Directorate of Burkina Faso, is part of an approach aimed at strengthening national capacities in climate risk management and agricultural insurance development.

The delegation was received by Mr. Abderrahim Chaffai, President of ACAPS, and discussed issues related to the establishment of an effective and inclusive agricultural insurance system, as well as potential areas of cooperation between the two institutions.

The mission provided an opportunity for a comprehensive and constructive exchange of experiences, particularly in relation to the regulatory framework, climate risk coverage mechanisms, and best practices observed in Morocco. These discussions contributed to a better understanding of Morocco's agricultural insurance systems and set the stage for future cooperation between Morocco and Burkina Faso.

This initiative is part of the South-South cooperation dynamic supported by the Kingdom of Morocco, to which ACAPS actively contributes through capacity building, expertise sharing, and the development of regional partnerships. This approach promotes the design of solutions tailored to local realities and climate challenges, in a spirit of solidarity and collaboration among African supervisory authorities.
